The Hard Foul Podcast is back! This week Jim and Evan talked about the fallout from the Chiefs win over Oakland and the lack of great NFL teams in the league this year. We covered the Bills and Giants per usual as well and tried to figure out who the MVP of the NBA is after a quarter of the season. We wrapped up the show talking about J Cole, Childish Gambino and the state of the hip hop in 2016.

The Beginning of a Strong Finish for the NFL

We’re in Week 13, and the Seattle Seahawks are the only team that I think has locked up their division. They haven’t looked super inspiring doing it, but they’re three games up on the disappointing Cardinals and have the largest divisional lead in the league. The Cowboys are up two and a half games on the Giants, and they play each other in a week. New England is two games up on Miami and three on the Bills, and while they will almost certainly win the division, the loss of Gronk and the fact that Brady is banged up might make a difference before the playoffs. The Raiders are only a game up on the Chiefs and two over the defending champs. The Falcons are up one on the Bucs. The NFC North is a mess. This is awesome. Continue reading

Who’s the NFL MVP? Why aren’t the Warriors getting more attention? Which Dragon Ball Z character did Jim compare the Cavs to? How excited are the guys for the release of the new Star Wars movie on a scale of 10 to 10? Jim and Evan answer all of those questions along with previewing big games for the Bills and Giants in an all new Hard Foul Podcast.

Big Blue Does the Bear Minimum

The New York Giants seem to be approaching football games like I approached academia: the “I’ll get to it when I get to it” model. It’s good enough to skate by, but that’s about it. To the surprise of no one, Big Blue needed a second-half comeback to beat the Bears at home this Sunday. Josh McCown and the Browns are up next, just waiting for Eli and the offense to come play down to their level. Continue reading

On Friday’s podcast, Jim and Evan start off by talking about some potentially playoff-bound NFL teams that are flying under the radar. The guys give their take on Romo’s presser, how the Giants need to shift their approach, and what to expect from the Bills down the stretch. The show closes out with some NBA chat and a sprinkling of the USMNT.

5 NFL Teams That Deserve a Little Love

Cleveland Browns v Miami Dolphins

Ugly animals don’t get screen time on Sarah McLachlan commercials, and you don’t see a lot about the Miami Dolphins on SportsCenter. Tony Romo thinks football is a meritocracy and I agree with him, but sometimes it isn’t covered as such. The Kansas City Chiefs don’t move the needle like the Dallas Cowboys do, and cute golden retrievers get more people to pick up their phone and donate to the ASPCA than some mangy one-eyed mutt.

I’m not suggesting we need more clips of ugly dogs or Chiefs highlights, but once in a while, it’s cool to acknowledge their existence. So in this article, I’m going to give some love to teams who get glossed over. These five squads might not be sexy but they’re worth keeping a tab on, because right now they’re doing a decent job of dancing in the dark, and I’m interested to see what they look like when the lights come on in the playoffs. Big Blue’s Defense Picks Up the Slack Once Again

The Giants squeaked out a 21-20 win over the Bengals on Monday Night Football to make it four straight, bringing them to 6-3 on the year. At halftime, former general manager Ernie Accorsi, former defensive end Justin Tuck, and former head coach Tom Coughlin were all inducted into Big Blue’s Ring of Honor. It was an event of a night, and the stage was set for Big Blue to either send a message or falter while everyone was watching. I expected a bit of both, and I think that’s what we got. After a great week of NFL football we bring you a brand new Hard Foul Podcast. This week, Evan and Jim recap a Giants win over Cincy and the rest of the good the bad and the ugly from Week 10 of the NFL, probably the most interesting week of the season so far. The guys wrapped up the show talking about the Celtics, Clippers and misguided Klay Thompson rumors.
