For Peyton Manning It’s Always Been About Control

Peyton Manning is a living legend, he’s had a storybook career and on Super Bowl Sunday he might be able to write his own ending. Peyton has always been in control whether it’s at the line of scrimmage or during that crazy off-season where the Colts decided to cut him because they were in position to draft Andrew Luck. That summer of 2011 Peyton controlled the attention of the NFL, and virtually every team wanted Peyton. From Arizona all the way to Minnesota the reports about him going to a team were wild and full of speculation, the only person that knew where Peyton was going was Peyton. This is a rare circumstance due to the fact that it seems like NFL front offices control every move of the players. Normally a team wouldn’t bother signing a normal 36 year old quarterback, especially one that just missed a full season due to neck surgery, but luckily for Peyton he was never normal. Peyton was a QB that had 11 seasons of 4,000 plus yard passing seasons, 399 passing touchdowns and 4 time MVP. Continue reading

Zackary El-Sharif

What a time to be alive. The country has Powerball fever and the sports world’s excitement for the NFL playoffs is heating up, luckily for the people of frigid Minnesota. That’s right it’s the time of the year where Tom Brady sits on the throne and the Buffalo Bills stay at home. Tom Brady is going into the month of January searching for his 5th Super Bowl ring, while the Seattle Seahawks hope to return to the Super Bowl for the 3rd consecutive season. Have no fear, there are some interesting teams that could pose a threat to the teams that have reigned supreme the past few seasons. Continue reading

Sharif’s Quick Shots

– Zack El-Sharif

Week 2, where the survival pools thin out, and fantasy owners panic. The Bills are 1-1 after a very anticlimactic game versus the Patriots. All the hype and excitement for the game faded away right around 1:30 Eastern Time. The Bills came out strong and then went into complete self destruction mode. I have some thoughts on that and other things that happened around the NFL this week.

The Hard Foul Pick ‘Em: Week 2

– The Hard Foul Staff

Week 1 is in the books, and the Hard Foul Staff looked like this with their predictions:

Brian Wolf led the way with 13 correctly picked winners.

Angela Nicholas, Evan Sally, Matt Haring, and Steve Stich had 11 correctly picked winners.

Scott Goodwin and Cruz Serrano knotted 10 winners a piece.

Rounding out the group was Jim Bearor, Zack El-Sharif, and Mike Tolsma with 8 winners.

This week, the gang does this one a little different. This is the style we intend to use the rest of the way. The staff decided on 4 big games and will be picking those, with the inclusion of Adam Bennett (HFSCleveland) as well.

The games this week we have decided to pick are: New England at Buffalo, Seattle at Green Bay, San Diego at Cincinnati, and Dallas at Philadelphia. Who do you have in this week’s Big 4? Continue reading

Sharif’s Quick Shots

Week One for the Bills and the rest of the NFL is in the books. Here’s everything you need to know about the first weekend of football.

3 Things That Stood Out About the Bills:

1) Karlos Williams looked good. First time the kid touches the ball he scores on a great run. He also looked like he knew what he was doing, as he would be at a stalemate at the line and he would just lower his helmet and get extra yards every time. It was incredible to see a 5th round pick do that. It makes it harder to miss Fred Jackson when you see a guy perform like that. A great find by Doug Whaley.
