I’m a simple man, so when it comes to defining what I’m thankful for in the sports world the answer is simple: I like it all. But there are a few things that stand out: Continue reading

The Bills Survive and Advance in Cincinnati

Sunday was a uncomfortable viewing experience. After the Bills marched down the field on their first drive for a touchdown, picking up big chunks of yardage on the way, it seemed like the table was set for them to put their foot on the neck of the Bengals early. Combine that with AJ Green’s early exit and a weak turnout from Bengals fans and I was giddy. I thought the Bills were in for a romp.

Not so fast. Continue reading

On an all new podcast Evan Sally and Jim Bearor start the show talking about the biggest story in the world, the presidential election results. But don’t worry they only talked about it until about the 11 minute mark before getting back to the important business, sports. They examined the fallout from an insane Bills/Seahawks game, talked about the inexplicable Giants, before finishing the show trying to figure out exactly how good the Raiders are and the exciting Lakers and Clippers.

8 games down, 8 games to go. We’ve reached the halfway point of the Bills season and at 4-4 the Bills haven’t eliminated themselves quite yet from the playoffs. However they can only lose two more times to reasonably expect to make the postseason, a very small margin of error. A 6-2 record down the stretch would be the Bills best run of play since 2004. Is this the Bills team that finally gets hot and makes history? Let’s take a look at where each side of the ball stands and where the Bills sit in the AFC playoff picture at this point of the season. The State of the Bills Fan Week 5: The Tyrod Taylor Conversation

A 3 game winning streak has left fans wondering if Tyrod Taylor is holding this team back or if he's the right man for the job. (Getty Images)

There appear to be two opposing arguments when it comes to talking about Tyrod Taylor. The “he’s getting the job done” faction vs the “he’s not good enough” side. Some fans place themselves strongly on one side or the other, while the vast majority are somewhere in between. Depending on your perspective people from each side could watch a Tyrod performance and come away with differing opinions. In reality I believe both sides are correct, however they’re both answering different questions. Tyrod is getting the job done by not turning the ball over and not costing the Bills games, something that really shouldn’t be taken for granted in the NFL. However he’s not good enough when it comes to competing at the highest level. There are very few if any fans who feel confident that in a matchup with the league’s best quarterbacks that Tyrod will have the better day. Continue reading

Greg Roman and The Superstitious Buffalo Bills

The firing of Greg Roman was shocking. To fire the offensive coordinator 2 games (and 5 days) into a season only one year after he cobbled together the 12th ranked scoring offense in the league is the kind of move nobody sees coming. Any time something like this happens there is always going to be a ton of questions. Questions like:

Whose call was this?

What did Roman do to merit his dismissal?

Is Rex’s firing not far behind?

In the recent days since this bombshell news dropped, we’ve gotten different answers to these questions that offer differing levels of satisfaction for fans. But there’s a question I want answered that there hasn’t been as much focus on.

What’s the point? Continue reading
