Tonight the playoff committee reveals its first of a series of playoff rankings for the College Football season. These rankings differ from what the AP and Coaches release week in and week out as this is a committee who are taking all the “contenders” body of work up to this point and ranking their top 10. College Football Review: Week 4

We are a month into the season and five weeks away from the first College Football Playoff ranking. It’s a good thing because as of right now there are many teams that believe they are a top four team. We witnessed many top tier programs handling their business against lesser opponents while schools such as TCU were taken to the brink and barely survived. We got to watch a Heisman hopeful widen the gap from his opponents and we got to see Karl Malone still use a flip phone.

The current top two schools in the country, Ohio State and Michigan State took care of business with 38-12 and 30-10 victories. The Big Ten is definitely representing themselves well right now. TCU and Trevone Boykin escaped a close one against in state rival Texas Tech on a fourth down tipped reception for the game winning touchdown with under 30 seconds remaining. UCLA went on the road to take on Arizona and took care of business with a 56-30 victory. Number 17 Northwestern remained undefeated after a 24-19 victory over Ball State and number 18 Utah put a whooping on number 13 Oregon. Are we witnessing the fall of the Ducks?

#5 Will Fuller, WR Notre Dame

The 6’0″ junior from Philadelphia, PA is on pace for over 1,500 receiving yards and 20 plus touchdowns. Through three games, Fuller has 18 receptions for 397 yards and 5 touchdowns. With the season ending injury to quarterback Malik Zaire, look for DeShone Kizer to rely heavily on the All-American candidate during crucial moments the rest of the season. Continue reading

Week One came and went for college football. We saw Stanford go down on the road to Northwestern, BYU victorious on a Hail Mary from their backup quarterback, Chad Kelly played well against UT-Martin, and the defending national champions played alright against the only team that defeated them last season in Virginia Tech.

This weekend, we already have a game with playoff implications, power teams trying to regain elite status, and of course some unexpected oddities. It’s the early weeks like this one that often blow up the script and that is why we watch!
